ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday launched its homemade covid-19 vaccine under the name "Pak Week", which, with the help of its ally China, has been used to vaccinate people in the country against polio and spread coronavirus cases. Prepared to bring under control.
Special Assistant for Health Dr. Faisal Sultan said that Pakistan was trying to overcome difficult challenges and turn them into opportunities with the help of friends.
"We found our friend China closer to overcoming the CoV-19 challenge," he said at the launch ceremony here, adding that China had provided the raw material for the vaccine but was still ready. It was not easy to do.
Dr. Sultan said local production of the vaccine would begin in the coming days.
Asad Umar, head of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), said it was an important day for Pakistan.
According to the Ministry of National Development Services, the development took place when the positivity rate fell below 4% for the first time in three months when 1,771 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of National Health Services. The number of cases registered reached 922,824.
The vaccination has also been carried out and so far more than 7.3 million doses have been given to more than 5.3 million people, of which about 2 million are fully vaccinated.
