Taliban assure that Afghan territory will not use TTP: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday said that the Taliban had assured him that they would not allow the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to use Afghan territory.
Talking to the media, Sheikh Rashid said that the situation in Afghanistan was being closely monitored and prayers were being offered for peace in the neighboring country.
Regarding the recent terrorist attacks, the Home Minister said that international conspiracies were being hatched to sabotage the C-Pack project. However, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was committed to taking forward this mega project which is the lifeblood of our economy.
He pointed out that Pakistan and China have close ties and their friendship is higher than the Himalayas.
Regarding the withdrawal of foreigners from Afghanistan, the Home Minister said that 1277 have been brought to the country. He said that 853 people entered Pakistan through the Torkham border. We have issued visas to 4,000 people, including the Afghan cricket team.
Sheikh Rashid said that Pakistan wanted peace and stability in Afghanistan. He said that peace in Pakistan is linked with peace in Afghanistan.
The minister said six new drones would be procured and 192 cameras would be installed in Islamabad to protect them. He said that soon a rescue service on the pattern of Punjab Rescue Service 1122 would be launched in the capital.
