Joe Biden faces 'unfair' criticism for expelling US: PM Imran Khan

- Prime Minister Imran Khan called Biden's decision "wise".
- The Taliban are a reality, the world must give them a chance.
- The prime minister has denied allegations that Pakistan is helping the Taliban.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that US President Joe Biden had faced "unfair" criticism over the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
In an interview with Russia Today (RT) television, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the US President had made a wise decision. The Prime Minister said that the intelligence chiefs of Pakistan and the United States were in touch on the situation in Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan suffered the most in the US war against Afghanistan and Islamabad was made a part of the coalition forces despite having nothing to do with 9/11.
Replying to a question, the Prime Minister said that despite being an ally of the United States, 480 drone strikes were carried out in Pakistan.
"Pakistan has paid a heavy price for standing with the United States in occupying Afghanistan, so listening to American politicians blames Islamabad for its humiliating setback," the prime minister said.
On the allegation that Pakistan had helped the Taliban against the United States, he said: "If [this] allegation is considered true, it means that Pakistan is stronger than the United States."
The puppet Afghan government propagated the idea that Pakistan was helping the Taliban, the prime minister said, referring to Ashraf Ghani's government, which was ousted by insurgents in mid-August.
He said that Ashraf Ghani's government carried out propaganda against Pakistan to hide its incompetence.
Talking about recognizing the Taliban government, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan was discussing the issue with neighboring countries.
"The Taliban are a reality, the world must give them a chance," he said.
The international community must support the Taliban for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan, as 75% of the country's budget is funded by international funds. He added that sanctions would destroy Afghanistan.
