President Joe Biden on Wednesday called close US partner Japan "xenophobic" at a Washington, D.C., pledge drive, only weeks after commending the US-Japan union at a state supper.
The president offered the comment
while contending that Japan, Russia, and China would perform better

"You know, one reason why
our economy is developing is a result of you and numerous others. Why? Since we
invite settlers," Biden expressed, as indicated by journalists going with
the president at a pledge drive with Asian American and Pacific Islander
allies. "The explanation - look, consider it. For what reason is China
slowing down so awful financially? Why is Japan experiencing difficulty? For
what reason is Russia?"
"Since they're
xenophobic," he said. "They don't need outsiders. Outsiders make
serious areas of strength for us."
Biden had comparably projected
Japan, Russia, and China as "xenophobic" during a meeting with a

"The Japanese, the Chinese,
they're xenophobic, they don't need any - the Russians, they would rather not

president said at that point.
