Turkey impeded Israeli president from entering Turkish airspace

Ankara purportedly denied an Israeli solicitation for the president's airplane to fly through Turkish airspace to go to the COP29 meeting in Baku

Turkey recently prevented the Israeli president from attending the COP29 culmination in Baku by denying authorization for his airplane to enter Turkish airspace, according to a few reports referring to Azerbaijani and Turkish authorities.

On Saturday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog's office reported that he was canceling his arranged visit to the environment gathering in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The president's office referred to "security contemplations" as the explanation without further explanation.

Yet, on Sunday, Ynet referred to authorities in Azerbaijan, saying the excursion was dropped because Turkey would not permit the president's plane to enter its airspace.

An anonymous Azerbaijani authority said Israel and Turkey participated in "concentrated talks through political channels that went on for a few days yet didn't yield results".

The remainder of the Israeli assignment to the meeting showed up in Baku on 11 November, having gone there on business trips through Georgia.

Al-Screen revealed that Turkish authorities affirmed that the public authority denied an authority Israeli solicitation for Herzog's airplane to fly through Turkish airspace.

Weakening relations

This comes after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Wednesday that Turkey has cut off all connections to Israel.

"The public authority of the Republic of Turkey, under the administration of Tayyip Erdogan, won't proceed or foster relations with Israel," Erdogan said.

"[Our administering coalition] is unflinching in its choice to cut attaches with Israel, and we will keep up with this position in the future also."

"We, as the Republic of Turkey and its administration, have as of now cut off all relations with Israel."

Turkish-Israeli relations have decayed essentially since the Hamas-drove assault on Israel on 7 October 2023 and Israel's resulting battle in Gaza, which has killed over 43,000 Palestinians.

Recently, Turkey mediated in a destruction body of evidence against Israel at the Global Official courtroom (ICJ) on the side of Palestine and pushed for an arms ban against Tel Aviv.
