No less than 10 individuals are
dead and many others were harmed after a vehicle blasted through a group at
Whiskey and Iberville Roads in New Orleans.
It occurred around 3:15 a.m.,
close to the furthest limit of New Year's festivals in New Orleans, and hours
before the opening shot of the All-State Bowl, a school football quarterfinal
held in the city's Caesars Superdome. Thousands were expected to participate.
Sources say the suspect in the
assault has been killed potentially by Another Orleans Cop.
City chairman Latoya Cantrell
called the episode a fear-monger assault and said she had been in touch with
the White House.
NOPD Director Anne Kirkpatrick
said a man drove a pickup around blockades and down Whiskey Road rapidly.
"This man was attempting to run over however many individuals he
could," she said. "He was hellbent on making the butchery that he
did."
Furthermore, two officials were
shot, she said. The states of those officials were not promptly accessible.
Alethea Duncan, an associate
specialist responsible for the FBI's New Orleans field office, said authorities
were researching the revelation of something like one thought ad-libbed
hazardous gadget at the scene. It was not promptly clear assuming the gadget
was tracked down in the vehicle.
NOLA Prepared has encouraged
