With a thrilling 27-25 victory in Baltimore on Sunday night, the Bills defeated K.C. to face the runner-up Super Bowl champions in the AFC Championship game.
"We know what they are.
They're perennials of what you want to do in the NFL," Josh Allen said of
the Chiefs via The Associated Press. "You have to beat them past. So, you
know, enjoy this tonight."
The Bills defeated the Chiefs in
Week 11, and Allen ran for the game-sealing touchdown in a 30-21 victory. The
win marks the fourth time Buffalo has defeated Kansas in the regular season. Nonetheless,
Allen tumbled to Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, losing three sequential
season finisher games to the Bosses (2020, 2021, and 2023).
Allen knows the Chiefs aren't the
same team they faced in mid-November -- the way Buffalo has improved.
"The regular season is a
regular season; it doesn't matter how well you do when you get to the playoffs,
it doesn't matter," Allen said. "It's hard to beat a team twice. We
understand that. We know that This is." The group we are." We beat
them early in the season, but this isn’t the same team that got some guys back
on defense and offense, and I can’t say enough right now.
Buffalo uses a balanced attack
against Baltimore's best to enter the championship game. Allen’s team, which
included zero first-team All-Pros, did enough to create opportunities to try
and knock off the defending champions.
"What a complete win,"
Allen said “The entire year this group has heard we don't have ability, we're
excessively little, we can't stop the run, we're not adequate to contend. We
just put our heads down and buckled down. Me." I'm very proud of our
defense."
They have to put their heads down
for another week to deal with their perennial nightmares.
