Sovereign had reservations against Prince William, Kate Middleton commitment
While the information on Prince William and Kate Middleton's commitment was generally welcomed, the Queen was thought to have had a few reservations.
Illustrious writer Katie Nicholl wrote in her 2011 book The Making of a Royal Romance that the Queen needed the Duke of Cambridge to bring up marriage when Kate had set up a profession.
"Secretly she [the Queen] had grave concerns and accepted that Kate expected to have some work and a personality by her own doing before a commitment was reported.
"She [the Queen] is one of the most focused royals, despite her age, and that a future individual from the illustrious family was without an everyday occupation was unsuitable to her."
A source told the illustrious creator: "Swanning starting with one five-star occasion resort then onto the next isn't the essential for a young lady conceivably bound to be Queen."
