Declaration of war: Palestinians in Israel announce mass arrests
Israeli police dispatch wave of captures focusing on Palestinian residents of Israel who mobilized on the side of Sheik Jarrah, Al-Aqsa, and Gaza.
Israeli police reported their aim to capture many Palestinian residents of Israel throughout the next few days for their interest in late demonstrations on the side of Palestinians in involved East Jerusalem and the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The flood of mass captures will occur as a feature of what police called "activity the rule of law". Police – including line watches and hold units – will look through homes and direct "examinations" until charges are submitted and jail sentences are forced, it added.
Hassan Jabareen, the overall overseer of Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, proclaimed the mission a "battle" against Palestinian demonstrators, political activists, and minors.
The huge capture activity is a "mobilized battle against Palestinian residents of Israel," Jabareen said in an explanation shipped off Al Jazeera on Monday, encouraging a "quick reaction" from all Palestinian political developments, parties, and from the High Follow-up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel.
The reason for the captures is to "scare and to get vengeance on Palestinian residents of Israel – 'to dole out the retribution' with Palestinians, in the Israeli police's own words – for their political positions and exercises", he said.
