There is
still time…talk and be wise…elections are the only solution to this crisis, PTI
chief
Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
Chairman Imran Khan has called for dialogue between the parties to resolve the
situation before a possible raid on his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore.
Expressing his concerns, Imran Khan shared a live link to his address on
YouTube, possibly his last tweet before his next arrest. Traffic has been
blocked on several roads leading to Zaman Park with heavy police presence in
the area.
Police personnel wearing bulletproof jackets and armed with
batons are deployed with mobile vans. Vehicles entering Zaman Park and
displaying PTI flags are being checked strictly as a result of which they have
been detained. Imran Khan emphasized the importance of elections as the only
solution to the crisis and emphasized the ability to hold elections to save the
country.
Imran Khan also addressed reports of PTI leaders leaving the
party, dismissing the notion and underlining the party's popularity. He warned
against a clash between the PTI and the army, saying it would have dire
consequences for the country. Imran Khan blamed incidents of violence and
claimed evidence of a planned attack on the Corps Commander's house. He
expressed concern for his own safety, refused to harbor terrorists, and called
for a civilized approach to the situation.
Imran Khan questioned the transparency of the investigation
into the May 9 incidents, alleging a conspiracy to ban the PTI and imprison its
leaders. He raised questions over the burning of Radio Pakistan and demanded an
independent investigation using facial recognition technology and NADRA data.
Imran Khan reiterated his unwavering support for the military and accused the
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) of indulging in divisive tactics.
Reflecting on the events of the past, Imran Khan recounted
the attack on his home, the threat to his family and his arrest, maintaining
his innocence and expressing his dismay at his treatment. The Supreme Court
annulled the decision of the Islamabad High Court and termed his arrest null
and void. In response to Imran Khan's arrest, PTI supporters vandalized the
historic Corps Commander House and the Military Engineering Services building.
After the protests, several PTI leaders were arrested, and
the civil-military leadership vowed to prosecute those responsible for the
destruction of military installations. In response to these events, the nation
will observe May 9 as "Black Day".
